Awareness Raising

Dundee Women’s Aid is committed to raising awareness of domestic abuse, its causes and effects on women, children and young people. We regularly give talks and presentations to community groups, students and other professionals.

We work with others locally and nationally to keep domestic abuse high on the political and social agendas.

We are heavily involved in working with teachers in schools and nurseries to support children and young people who have or are experiencing domestic abuse. Recent research highlighted how young people’s perceptions of domestic abuse within a relationship were ok and we aim to challenge these attitudes in the hope that the incidence of domestic abuse is reduced in the future.
