Prevention work
The main aim of Prevention Work is to work with
children and young people. Through
interactive workshops we explore the choices and behaviours that build a healthy relationship, helping children understand what domestic abuse is and how it may affect them.
Another part of Prevention Work is raising awareness
through training sessions amongst professionals or those working with children and families such as
school staff,
social work and
other agencies.
We also work within the
community to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Drop-in sessions and attending community groups are just a few ways this is done.

Workshops for Children and Young People
- Interactive sessions for school children on the topic of domestic abuse
- Delivered in an age appropriate way and gentle enough to not cause any upset
- The sessions cover certain areas of the curriculum in line with the RSHP (Relationship, Sexual Health and Parenthood) Framework
- Usually this would be delivered in schools during the school day
Since August 2016, the Prevention Workshops have been extremely successful and have been delivered to over 500 pupils in more than ten schools throughout Dundee.

Training for Professionals
- Providing free training on domestic abuse
- Raising awareness of the issues surrounding domestic abuse within the community and its impact on CYP
