prevention work
The main aim of our prevention service is to increase accessibilty, awareness, inclusivity and knowledge.
We offer a variety of options to ensure we remain progressive and engaging; with a particular focus on workshop programmes, training and awareness raising events.
Through interactive workshops, we explore choices and behaviours that build a healthy relationship; helping children and young people understand what domestic abuse is and how it may affect them.
Another part of prevention work is raising awareness through training sessions amongst professionals or those working with children and families such as school staff, social work and other agencies.
We encourage and welcome all businesses to consider domestic abuse training as we firmly believe that everyone has a role to play in recognising and responding. Domestic abuse is everybody's business.
We also work within the community to raise awareness of domestic abuse and we are keen to be as accessible as we can, which means we are always excited to explore different formats and events we can lead or take part in.
Drop-in sessions, local event presence, informational talks and attending community groups are just some of the ways we can increase service and domestic abuse awareness.
The services offered through our prevention work are free of charge (excluding any training available via Eventbrite) and further details regarding workshops, training and community presence can be found by clicking on the headlines below.

Training for Professionals (click to expand)
- For a more in-depth understanding, we recommend a full day to really explore and reflect on domestic abuse and surrounding topics.
- We understand that a full day is a big commitment and we ensure all the training and awareness we provide is as flexible as we can make it. We can therefore provide awareness sessions or informational talks in as little as an hour to three hours. Alternatively we can provide split sessions that run over different days to receive a full day's worth of training.
- All awareness and training is completely bespoke to ensure those attending benefit as much as possible and is relevant to roles and responsibilities.
- Group training is completely free, however we also offer training on an individual basis through Eventbrite.
